The Sum Frequency Generation spectroscopy is widely used to explore molecular orientation at interfaces by exploiting the polarization dependence of the incident and emitted lights.  However, the analysis methods of polarization might often involve a number of assumptions to derive the microscopic orientation of surface molecules.<br/>We try to critically examine these analysis methods of polarization with the help of molecular dynamics simulation for some liquid surfaces.  This work aims at establishing clear and unambiguous relation between the polarization dependence of SFG spectroscopy and molecular orientation at interfaces.
