Our research group is interested in the chemical synthesis, biochemical properties and molecular behaviour of RNA and their analogues. We also devote an enormous effort to study biologically and therapeutically relevant RNA structures. This presentation highlights our recent progress on a) RNA microarrays synthesized in situ by photolithography, b) the stabilization of RNA in biological media for siRNA mediated gene knockdown, and c) the stabilization and use of novel nucleic acid structures such as branched RNA, parallel stranded duplexes, and G- and C- tetraplexes for the study and regulation of key biological processes. Our research programs are funded by NSERC (DG and Create grants), CIHR (Operating and Training grants), and McGill University.
