Tris[60]fullerene adducts of three [4,4,4]tridecastarphenes were synthesized via separate Diels-Alder reactions. The cycloadditions are highly regioselective and are influenced by the nature and location of substituents on the starphene backbone. No strong diastereoselectivity (i.e., syn vs. anti [60]fullerene addition) was observed. In all cases, mixtures of cis,cis- and cis,trans-tris[60]fullerene adducts were generated and separated.
