An acid assisted aqueous sol gel method was used to synthesize titanium oxide nanopowders at room temperature using titanium tetraisoproproxide (TTIP) and glacial acetic acid at varied pH values.  Nanopowders were aged in solution at varying temperatures.  The nanopowder samples were left in solution from times varying between one hour and twelve months.  After synthesis, each of the nanopowder samples were characterized to determine size, composition and phase using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM/EDS), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).  The spectra and diffraction patterns were used to determine the age required to induce a phase change from the amorphous to anatase structure.  The effects of varied temperature and pH values on phase change and particle size distribution were ascertained.  After two weeks, all samples were found to be crystalline regardless of precursor pH.
