The ACS Student Affiliate Chapter at the University of Kansas (KU), the KU Chem Club, has a strong reputation for creating captivating science presentations for youngsters in northeastern Kansas.  Each year, this undergraduate organization affords dozens of opportunities for members to meet the public informally at hands-on events like the KU Carnival of Chemistry, KU Engineering Expo, and Lawrence Celebrates Earth Day; and to visit local K-12 learners in school classrooms and after school programs.  The KU Chem Club’s broader suite of membership benefits includes participation in plant tours, study groups, current events discussions, interdisciplinary outreach, travel to local- and national-level professional meetings, and other science and engineering career development-driven activities.  “Just for fun” social events also bolster member recruiting and retention.  Examples of KU Chem Club activities will be illustrated, and the suite of elected leadership positions required for development and implementation will be discussed.<br/>
