Early-late heterobimetallic materials have shown promise as photocatalysts for carbon dioxide reduction when grafted to a SBA-15 silica surface in the presence of an amine donor. These heterobimetallic materials have been synthesized using the transition metals cobalt(II) and zirconium(IV) under air-free conditions and characterized by UV-FTIR spectroscopy. Different amine groups are also being experimentally tested to determine if there is a difference in the efficiency of the electron donation provided by the amine group relative to the steric bulk of substituent groups. Through the use of a home-built reaction cell, scanning electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy, the properties of these materials are explored and analyzed.<br/><br/>
