This project encourages faculty, students, staff and administrators to support quality safety and environmental measures in a functioning undergraduate chemistry laboratory. Through standardization using the commercial Quartzy platform, sustainable systems are implemented to streamline the management of chemicals, their documentation and the ordering process. Solutions, including material reduction, strategies to reduce chemical wastes, increased recycling capacity, life cycle impacts of various waste management strategies and revised risk assessment approaches are developed.<br/>The Wesley College undergraduate research program in chemistry is supported by a National Science Foundation (NSF) Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research grant IIA-1301765 (Delaware EPSCoR program); an Institutional Development Award (IDeA) from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) at the National Institutes of Health (P20GM103446, Delaware INBRE program); a NSF S-STEM grant (NSF DUE 1355554 - the Wesley College Cannon Scholar program) and the State of Delaware (Delaware Economic Development Office).
