Our primary research interests in recent years have been tripartite: (1) synthesis of a variety of isatin-derived compounds, (2) development of green chemistry experiments for the introductory organic chemistry laboratory, and (3) mammalian chemical signaling. After a brief retrospective of our earlier research, representative examples from the three categories of current research will be presented.
