Dilantin is a pharmaceutical drug that is used in antiepileptic and anticonvulsant treatment. The chemical name for this drug is 5,5-diphenylhydantoin. The goal of this research is to produce Dilantin using the principles of Green Chemistry. This will be accomplished by the using alternative solvents and energy sources. The study also include the research into sustainable sources of starting materials.
