The development of green chemistry and engineering alternatives for pharmaceutical process and analytical chemistry is an imporatant industry-wide objective.  In this presentation we will survey recent progress, ranging from the use of biocatalysis and improved synthetic reactions to greener analytical chromatography (use of microcapillary columns, renewable mobile phases such as ethanol, and the replacement of petrochemically-derived hydrocarbon solvents with pressurized carbon dioxide), to preparative chromatography (strategies for improved chromatographic productivity, solvent recycling and the use of preparative SFC), to bulk purification (concentrating and eliminating toxic impurities, remediation of metal contamination, etc.).  Throughout, the importance of collaboration will be emphasized, inclucing collaboration between pharma research groups and academia and cross-pharma collaborations on precompetitive areas of mutual interest.<br/>
