Over the past 5 ½ years, work in the Levine research group at the University of Rhode Island has focused on advances in supramolecular organic chemistry and their applications in toxicant detection and environmental remediation. This work has been published more than 20 times in peer-reviewed journals, and is currently funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative. Over the same time period, I have given birth to two children (in addition to the one I had earlier in my career), taken maternity leave with each, and successfully met breastfeeding goals. All of this coincides with a 60 mile daily commute that enables my spouse to commute to his job as well, 45 miles in the opposite direction. I will discuss some research progress in our group, as well as strategies for work-life balance and multi-tasking success.<br/>
