This presentation is the result of our research activity on metal complexes of some mixed antimalarial drugs and the degree of potency derived from the biological activity investigation. Some of the drugs that played major role in this study are Nalidixic acid, pyrazinoic acid amide and hydrazides with special reference to isonicotinoyl type. The synthetic methods include slight modification of the existing reaction techniques. A quite number of metal complexes were derived from this work utilizing some transition metal (II) ions as raw materials in addition to the parent drugs. The reactions took place at different reaction parameters.  The complexes were characterised by melting point, solubility, elemental analyses, mass spectrometry, magnetic susceptibility measurement, electronic and vibration spectroscopy. The complexes that gave excellent single crystals during growth in suitable solvents were also characterized by single crystal X-ray crystallography.  <br/>The complexes were screened in vitro against isolates of Plasmodium falciparum and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The results showed that some of these metal complexes are more active in vitro against the parasites in comparison to chloroquine. Detailed syntheses, structural elucidation and the efficacy of these compounds will be described.<br/>
