<br/>A porphyrin is a large aromatic compound composed of four conjugated pyrrole rings. Porphyrins have been used in photodynamic therapy to treat cancer cells and have been shown to be successful. In this research study, an amino group from the compound 3-amino-1,2-propanediol is added to the H<sub>2</sub>TPPC, porphyrin core. Characterizing this synthesized compound involved using UV-vis, infrared (IR), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Spectroscopies, and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). HPLC analyzes the purity of the compound and the other tests analyze the characteristics of the compound and show that the porphyrin is present. The cytotoxicity of this compound will then be used on MDA-MB-231 Triple Negative breast cancer cells under light and dark conditions using MTT assay.<br/>
