Triplet excited states are relevant to the performance of organic photovoltaics, and particularly those that exploit the mechanism of singlet fission.  We report resonance Raman spectra for a series of triplet excited oligothiophenes at room temperature in solution. The triplet spectra are more complex than the corresponding ground state spectra.  DFT calculations help in the interpretation of the excited-state vibrational spectra, despite an imperfect match between calculations and experiment. Some features of the experimental spectra converge for oligomers with more than six thiophene units. The delocalization of triplet excited states in polythiophene can be inferred from the oligomer spectra.
