Serious Solids Chemistry Game is a free app designed and developed at Tennessee Tech University to assist general chemistry students in the process of writing net ionic equations. The goal of the game is to select the correct ratios of cations and anions that combine to form solid precipitates at 0.1M ion concentrations, neutral pH, and 25<sup>o</sup>C using a general solubility guideline grid as a reference. When both the name and the formula appear to be correct on the screen, students submit potential solids. Correct answers are rewarded, and incorrect answers are explained. Spectator ions are swept away from the screen to earn extra game points. The educational app was developed in collaboration with the TTU iCUBE computing team for multiple platforms: iOS, Android, and web (HTML5). Data collected both before and after the implementation of this app in the undergraduate general chemistry classroom will be presented.
