Enaminones are any compounds that containing N-C=C-C=O. It may be 1,3-diketone, -ketoester or similar 1,3-disfunctional reagents. Enaminoes are used widely in the synthesis of natural product, pharmaceutical studies, and peptidomimetics. Enaminones can also act as electrophiles or nucleophiles and it’s commonly used in organic synthesis. The Eschenmoser coupling reaction has been greatly used in the production of enaminones. The reaction couples a thiamide and a -halocarbonyl compound, this reaction normally requires a base. However the Eschenmoser coupling reaction often requires long reaction time. We will share our results on the mechanochemical Eschenmoser coupling reaction. Use of grinding greatly accelerates the reaction.
