Our experimental studies are based on fabrication of clusters with atomic precision control of size in the gas phase and their deposition on supports of interest. Characterization is performed using temperature programmed reaction (TPRx) combined with in situ grazing incidence X-ray absorption spectroscopy (GIXAS) and grazing incidence small angle x-ray scattering (GISAXS). In our presentation we will addresses the catalytic performance and evolution of the oxidation state of subnanometer size cobalt clusters during Fischer Tropsch reaction under low pressure as the function of cluster size and the composition of the support.
