This presentation is an overview of the bioreactor scale-down model verification approach implemented for a recent CHO-based process.  The presentation will discuss the use of satellite cultures in bench-scale bioreactors as the basis of the scale-down model, and will discuss the use of a mathematical model to ensure the pCO2 profile is consistent between the small scale and large scale cultures.  A Student’s t test was used to calculate confidence intervals for each of the process’ attributes.  The confidence intervals quantify the differences between scales and characterize the predictability of the scale-down model.    <br/>
