Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are known as porous crystalline materials consisting of metal ions or clusters coordinated to organic molecules, which have a huge potential for applications in gas storage, catalysis, semiconductor, drug delivery system and so forth. Porphyrins are often utilized as building components in MOFs because of their unique structures and capability of light harvesting, metal coordination and catalysis. N-confused porphyrin (NCP) is known as one of the isomer of porphyrin, containing one pyrrole unit connecting via α, β’ -linkage between meso-carbons, which has demonstrated intriguing properties, such as stablization of higher oxidation states of metals, anion binding at the peripheral NH moiety and NH tautomerism dependent on environmental changes. Driven by the idea to bring NCP to the building blocks of MOFs, we synthesized NCP-based MOF in this study (Figure 1). In the lattice of MOF, NCP links to zirconium metal oxide cluster Zr6O4(OH)4, giving a cubic shaped NCP-MOF, inferred from SEM and XRD analysis. The detailed structure, stability, photophysical properties will be presented.
