Me0.1-Nb0.1-Ni0.8O (Me = Ti and W) catalysts were prepared by evaporation method and used as the catalysts for oxidative hydrogenation of ethane to ethylene. The reaction was done in a packed-bed quartz tube reactor with ethane to oxygen ratio (C2H6/O2) of 2 and feed composition of 20% C2H6/10% O2 balanced with helium. The temperature was varied from 280 to 400 degree Celsius. The conversion and selectivity of the reaction were known from the gas composition at the reactor outlet determined by using online gas chromatography. The catalysts will be further characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron (XPS), Scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX), H2 temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), NH3 temperature-programmed desorption (NH3-TPD) and O2 temperature-programmed oxidation (O2-TPO).
