The double-decker ligand framework, N(o-(NHCH2PiPr2)C6H4)3, contains two unique ligand pockets which has enabled the systematic isolation of 14 unique pairings of first-row transition metals to date. These pairings are comprised mostly of early-late transition metal pairings, which provide a wide range of bonding, from dative interactions to quintuple bonds between the metals. A series of Ti-M complexes has recently joined V-M and Cr-M series to provide insight into periodic trends into metal-metal interactions. A suite of experimental and computational techniques, including X-ray crystallography, cyclic voltammetry, and Mössbauer spectroscopy among others, have been employed to evaluate this unique series of complexes
