Zeolites with greater accessibility are highly desired for production of renewable energy and chemicals. This presentation deals with the synthesis of such zeolites via delamination of layered zeolite precursors. We demonstrate how heteroatom confinement within the surface pockets of 2-dimensional layered zeolitic structures influences catalyst stability, activity and selectivity. This confinement also involves the effect of organic ligands on catalytically active metals within the zeolite framework.
