Novel imidazolium-based ionic liquid containing ether-functionalized anion were synthesized and its ionogels were prepared by adding a proper amount of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide. The prepared ionogel exhibited better ion transport behavior than ionic liquid itself despite of their solid-like viscoelasticity behavior. The physical properties of ionogels were analyzed by optical birefringence, small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), pulsed-field gradient (PFG) NMR and electrochemical analysis. According to experimental results, it could be suggested that the ionogels were formed through the Coulombic interactios between ionic species and the resulting smectic ordered structure facilitated the ion transport of ionogels.
