We report the synthesis of the ruthenium perfluoroethylphosphine pincer complex (C2F5PCP)Ru((L)(H) (L = THF or acetone, L2 = cod, nbd), and its ligand substitution chemistry. A survey of catalytic alkane dehydrogenation activity in comparison to the less sterically-hindered trifluoromethylphosphine analog (CF3PCP)Ru(L)(H) will also be presented.
