As the need for action on climate change mounts, there has been an increasing urgency in the way people from around the world have responded to implemented policies. From public marches, to works of art, protests, and public education, responses have been considerably varied. By representing the American Chemical Society at the 2015 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 21<sup>st</sup> Conference of Parties in Paris, France, I directly interacted with people from around the world desperate to reach a legally binding and universal agreement. I participated in a variety of side events at the Paris conference as well as consulted with U.S. governmental agencies in Washington, D.C. This presentation will focus on the personal side of the conference by describing how real people and various organizations respond to the negotiations via conversations, communication efforts, artistic expressions, or modes of protest.
