The goal of this analysis was to better understand the makeup of the COMP division over the past decade. Specifically, the cities where members worked and types of COMP members who attended the Indianapolis National Meeting (INM; September 2013) were analyzed. Using 14 years of COMP membership data, changes over time in the demographics and location of COMP members were explored. Limited inference was established between the location of COMP members and their career rank, yet trends in member density were established. Large reductions in membership density have occurred in numerous cities across the United States. Increases in COMP membership for national meeting cities were noticed for the year of or following a national meeting. Combining the membership data with INM attendance information – provided by the American Chemical Society – gave the means to better understand the composition of the COMP members who attended a fall national meeting. Based on age, gender, and years of COMP service (duration of COMP membership) the COMP INM attendees mirrored the demographics of the COMP division yet attendees had more years of ACS service.<br/>
