Photophysics and photochemistry processes open way for a broad range of applications and inspire a healthy synergistic effort between experiment, theory, and computation for identifying mechanisms responsible for different pathways of excitations in excited materials. A rich variety of photo-physical and photochemical processess are facilitated by quantum confinement and interface of organic-to-inorganic materials. Role of formation of bound excitons and polarons in soft nanomaterials versus hot electron relaxation in colloidal nanoparticles is explored from the aspect of time-resolved spectroscopic monitoring and first principle nonadiabatic dynamics modeling. An experimental format of this FORUM includes several overviewing talks followed by discussion panel.
