An efficient synthesis of <i>N</i>-arylaminobenzamide as a novel MEK inhibitor is presented. Addition of lithium halides was found to show remarkable effects on the nucleophilic aromatic substitution of a fluorobenzene bearing two carboxyl functional groups. The reaction with thermally unstable hydroxylamine was also attained to realize a safety process for manufacturing. Furthermore, hazard evaluation and safety assessments were achieved for its practical production.
