Transitioning from graduate and postdoctoral life to an academic, industrial, government or a non-traditional career in chemistry can be a daunting journey filled with opportunities and challenges.  Maximizing graduate and postdoctoral experiences will be beneficial for a successful transition to a career in the chemical sciences.  Using examples from her tenure as an international graduate student and postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Haase will share key advice, skills and experiences that were integral in preparing her for a career in academia and now, industry.  Additionally, based on her experiences, she will share special considerations for international students pursuing a job in the United States.  Finally, Dr. Haase will discuss how she continues to leverage the skills developed during graduate school and postdoctoral studies in her current role as a chemist at the Dow Chemical Company.
