Poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) is a high performance polymer valued for its high strength and high temperature thermal transitions. The ability to gel PEEK has lead to the creation of PEEK hydrogels and aerogels. The crystallinity of PEEK gels, hydrogels, and aerogels was investigated using wide angle X-ray diffraction. Additionally, aerogel density, compressive strength, and wettability were investigated. Aerogel density was controlled via gel concentration and resulted in tunable compressive strength as well as bulk superhydrophobicity.
