The unique properties of nanomaterials enable an emerging technologies for addressing environmental challenges. This paper has summarized our work on 1). Fabricating novel nanomaterials; 2). Characterizing their band gap; 3). Computational chemistry (e.g., DFT calculations) for their properties; 4). Environmental applications including a). Sensing pollutants such as ozone detection; b). Selective reduction of chlorinated organic compounds in water; c). Production of hydrogen gas (H<sub>2</sub>); d). Photocatalytic oxidation of indoor air pollutants.<br/>
