Poly(silylether)s have potential applications as conductive polymeric materials, elastomers and plastics. One of the promising ways to synthesize these polymers is a transition metal catalyzed dehydrogenative cross coupling of diols and hydrosilylation polymerization of dicarbonyls with silanes. An inexpensive, non-toxic and air-stable salen- Mn(V) complex was used in the polymerization process. A variety of poly(silylether)s of diols with aliphatic and aromatic backbone were synthesized with good yields and molecular weights. <sup>1</sup>H NMR, <sup>13</sup>C NMR, IR spectroscopy and GPC were used to characterize the polymers.
