This opening paper will set the stage for the symposium, which is the third in the series of symposia, to bring women who have successfully commercialized chemistry to speak and interact directly with attendees at the ACS National meeting. It will focus on the policies and role of government and how they impact translating research to innovation to commercial offering. Panelists will share personal experience as business leaders who influence policy that impacts scientific innovation and job creation.
