Controllable integration of magnetic nanoparticles and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are attracting considerable attention for separation and recycling of MOF-based catalysts after catalytic reactions. In addition, research concerning potential uses in aerobic oxidation of benzylic C-H bonds is in its infancy with unsatisfactory yield or hard reaction condition which probably brings a great challenge in the fabrication of well-designed heterogeneous MOF-based catalysts to develop that of the transformation. We proposed the facile encapsulation of magnetic oxide nanocomposites into MOF via a simple strategy. The core-shell CuFe2O4@CuBTC nanocomposites was synthesized. More importantly, such CuFe2O4@CuBTC core-shell nanocomposites displayed distinct excellent catalytic activity for aerobic oxidation of benzylic C-H bonds in mild reaction condition, but remarkably, they can be easily recovered by magnetic separation and successfully used for many times without significant loss of catalytic activity.
