Novel methodologies for silver mediated difluorination reactions of styrenes and cyclopropanes were developed using hypervalent iodine reagent. In this difluorination one fluorine comes from the electrophilic fluorinating reagent, while the other one derives from AgBF<sub>4</sub>. Interesting migration difluorination reaction was observed in the presence of α-methyl styrenes. Fluorinative ring opening was further developed for both 1,3-oxy and difluorination reactions.
