Recently synthetic two-dimensional polymers have gained much interest for potential use as membranes, sensors, or in electronics. Post polymerization functionalization is crucial in seeing the advancement of such membranes. A route investigated through my research is the post functionalization of polycarboxy fantrip. This poster will concern synthetic strategies of the carboxy fantrip monomer, and functionalization of carboxy triptycene cores leading into surface functionalization of polycarboxy fantrip.
