A survey of deep eutectic solvents was conducted and their physical and electrochemical properties were explored. Deep eutectic solvents are a mixture of two compounds (in our case, anhydrous choline chloride and a hydrogen bond donor) that when combined at the proper molar ratio will have a significantly reduced melting point. The research was conducted using three deep eutectic solvents that are in a liquid state at room temperature. These three deep eutectic solvents are: 1:2 mol ratio anhydrous choline chloride to urea, 1:2 mol ratio anhydrous choline chloride to ethylene glycol, and 1:1 mol ratio anhydrous choline chloride to malonic acid.<br/>The solubility of various metal oxides was tested in the deep eutectic solvents. The following oxides were the ones used in the research: iron(III) oxide, copper(II) oxide, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, and manganese dioxide. The electrochemistry of the resulting solutions was analyzed by cyclic voltammetry.
