Chromium aminocarbenes have been generally less exploited than their chromium alkoxycarbenes counterpart. Although carbene complexes of transition metals have found applications in organic synthesis, the field of their use is still open to investigation. We took advantage of this nitrogen stabilization in the synthesis of the very stable α-alkoxyvinyl(amino)carbene complexes. This research highlights the preparation and early reactivity studies of the aminovinyl carbenes toward alkynes in the Dötz reaction and the mainly aminophenol products.
