The word “citizens” by definition is an inhabitant of a particular town or city. As citizens of chemistry, it is our responsibility to shape the future of our communities and enhance the knowledge of chemical sciences and engineering using community outreach programs. Here at Texas Woman’s University we strive to accomplish this task through the use of chemistry engagement projects. Some of our activities include magic shows, food drives, our calculate it forward program, community back pack drive and various other campus wide activities. These programs not only teach our students about the responsibilities of being good chemistry citizens, it also teaches them the skills to grow as leaders in the community as well.   <br/>
