Throughout the past year, our chapter has continued to accomplish much through a variety of events and activities. To encourage professional development we have attended a Green Chemistry workshop at UMass Boston and a graduate fair at Brandeis University. To foster community within the chapter and the rest of campus we hold events such as Science Cafe. The chapter has also continued to raise money for the Chemistry Achievement Fund with the 6th Annual Cookie Jar Fundraiser. Our chapter focuses on civic responsibility through participating in National Chemistry Week events at the Museum of Science and Boston Children’s Museumas well as on campus outreach events such as a Science Carnival during our homecoming to excite children and parents about chemistry. We also have outreach events at elementary and high schools in the area such as an informational STEM night for high schoolers and weekly tutoring at the LaVida Scholars Program. In continuing to green our chapter, we hold webinars and lectures on green chemistry to raise awareness about green chemistry to the rest of campus. We have also begun creating tutorial videos of a variety of green chemistry activities that will be accessible to the public.
