The student chapter of the American Chemical Society at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa is an active group of students who focus on building the character of the individual members, develop the professionalism of the group, and to help share chemistry and biochemistry with the UNI campus and the community at large. We have many events throughout the academic year to not only to better our members, but to reach out to the community and share the importance of understanding chemistry.<br/>Included in our work is the assistance with summer undergraduate research and providing outlets to present the research at regional and national meetings. We also introduce our members to the many opportunities chemistry offers by inviting guest lecturers to the departmental seminars and taking field trips to area chemical-based and manufacturing industries. During our largest event during the year, our annual Halloween House, we invite many other scientific student organizations to turn the chemistry department into an exciting opportunity for local students and families to learn and discover all areas of science.
