Because they illustrate the interplay between electron localization/delocalization and molecular distortion, organic mixed valence compounds are intrinsically interesting, but can also provide insight into electron transport and switching phenomena in organic materials. Verdazyl free radicals have recently been reported as key components of photoconducting liquid crystals and are gaining interest as components of organic materials. We report on the redox chemistry of bis(verdazyl) systems, particularly looking at the change in properties of the mixed valence intermediates as a function of the linking group between them.<br/>
