Researchers in a variety of industries are challenged in creating a formulation strategy to advance the potential commercialization of their proprietary active ingredients.  From the getting the science right to protecting intellectual property, organic chemists must have tools at their disposal to make quick, high quality decisions.   Over the past few years, CAS has been developing a curated collection of formulation information, embodying not on the detailed relationship between reported materials, but also the manufacturing process and physical properties with the notion that such a collection would assist scientists determine the various paths that their research could take.  This talk will describe how this content was developed and possible applications including chemical patent trend analysis and physical property comparisons between formulations being pursued.
