Isoxazoline and isoxazole compounds are extremely useful compounds with diverse pharmacological activities as antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant cytotoxity, and anti-inflammatory agents.  This work will strive to produce unpublished propargylic dihydrofuroisoxazoline compounds that have been previously made in our laboratory. A nitroether, formed from a Michael Addition of an alkenynoxide and nitroalkene, will produce dihydrofuro-isoxazoline through the Intramolecular Silyl Nitronate Cycloaddition (ISNC).  The cyclic ether can be opened with a Lewis Acid to obtain a highly functionalized isoxazoline ring system with the propargylic moiety intact.  These compounds will be tested as antifungal compounds.  <br/>
