Have you ever wondered how much caffeine is in your daily cup of coffee? Consumers with this question sparked interest in the analysis of the caffeine content of common brewing methods. Previous work within our research group led to the development of a reproducible method to determine the caffeine content of coffee through liquid-liquid extractions followed by analysis with <sup>1</sup>H-NMR spectroscopy. The increase in popularity of Keurig brand coffee makers, which provide a fast, simple, and convenient cup of coffee, has raised curiosity in the caffeine content from this brewing method. As such, the amount of caffeine obtained from this method will be analyzed. In this work, a method to measure the caffeine content difference between traditional brewed coffee and Keurig brand brewed coffee will be utilized. The same brand of coffee will be brewed in both methods, and the caffeine will be extracted in each to compare the caffeine content between the brewing methods.
