At Angelo State University, our Green Chemistry Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society has continued in its endeavor to promote green chemistry and all of its benefits to the town of San Angelo, Texas. We do so by encouraging our members to attend lectures from experts in the field to gain a better understanding of green chemistry. We also participate in city-wide events such as the SAMFA Eco Fair where we provide green chemistry demonstrations, such as a biodiesel display, and promote green chemistry awareness to the public. We reach out to our own Chemistry students through a green chemistry bulletin board that displays the twelve principles of green chemistry as well as the rest of our campus with on campus hands on events. All demonstrations involve green chemistry and most activities included can be done at home.
