The presence of pharmaceutical compounds in natural waters has resulted in a growing amount of concern for the quality of the surrounding environment. Reliable methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis are necessary for accurate measurement of these compounds. Improvements of current literature methods for the analysis of MDMA in aqueous solutions with HS-SPME-GC-MS were investigated and applied to the natural waters of Minnesota.
