The electronic structure of highly charged ions (HCI) plays a crucial role in the characterization of astrophysical systems and plasma-wall interaction in Tokamak reactor. The electronic structure of HCI is typically calculated with relativistic configuration interaction (CI) methods, and approaches that combine configuration interaction and many-body perturbation theory (MBPT) techniques. One of the combined methods is the Multi-Reference Möller-Plesset (MR-MP), where the large and small radial components of the Dirac spinors are expanded in sets of Gaussian-type functions. In the present work, we have performed a systematic study of the effects of the basis set size on the energy levels of Li-, Ne- and Zn-like HCI.
