OCS is the most abundant sulfur-containing atmospheric molecule and is commonly used to study gas phase reaction dynamics.  Previous studies have been carried out over a range of photodissociation wavelength ranging from 288 nm to 193 nm.  These studies have shown the resulting CO fragment from dissociation to be rotationally hot and vibrationally cold.  A recent study conducted at Texas A&M University, using 2+1 Resonance Enhanced Multiphoton Ionization (REMPI) at 215 nm, observed a significantly higher CO(<i>v</i>=1) population than predicted by calculation.  In this work, a 2+1 REMPI scheme was employed at 230 nm.  This study resulted in a higher fraction of CO(<i>v</i>=1) than has been experimentally observed at a dissociation wavelength of 230 nm.  Additional experiments are necessary to determine the origin of the vibrationally excited CO product distributions.
