Undergraduates are interested in environmental issues, so to encourage their participation in research on these issues, we formed an interdisciplinary environmental research cluster.  The four cluster faculty include a physicist, chemist, environmental engineer, and environmental toxicologist.  By sharing resources and students, the cluster encourages and supports student research in a wide range of environmental topics, all of which are driven by student preferences.  In the past 5 years, over 50 students have participated in cluster research projects.  Students have been 62% women and 48% from NSF listed under-represented groups.  This presentation will include a brief overview of current projects and their results in synthesis and characterization of biofuel from Chick-fil-A waste oil and grease; toxic substances air sampling and environmental justice; and river water analysis through popular recreational canoe and kayak routes in Georgia.
